All our bags are packed, we're ready to go. It is 11:20 and the shuttle service arrives at 2:00. Thought I would take a few minutes to set up a blog for the Europe trip. Hoping to take and post lots of pictures. Very excited to be taking Jordan, who will serve as our official photographer.
We will arrive in Paris at 3:30 a.m. CST/9:30 a.m. in Paris. Surprise of surprises, we have no "scheduled" activities for the first day other than getting ourselves to the condo that Carl has rented in Paris. I suspect that we will spend the first day getting to know the neighborhood and perhaps taking a walking tour a la Rick Steves.
We're taking KiKi Kimball's advice to sleep on the plane and gut it through the first day so that we can make the proper adjustment to the time difference. Carl has also asked her via Facebook this morning to keep her phone with her at all times so that we can call on her translating abilities should we run into trouble.
Thanks to all the well-wishers who have sent us messages this morning. We're looking forward to the journey.
